LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2021

TO:
Honorable Brian Birdwell, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4279 by Dominguez (Relating to the eligibility of the Windham School District to participate in the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant Program.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the eligibility of the Windham School District to participate in the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant Program could be absorbed using existing resources. Although there is no significant cost to implement the provisions of the bill, the Texas Workforce Commission reports adding another entity will impact how the JET funds are allocated for independent school districts, public junior colleges, public technical institutes, and public state colleges.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
