FROM:

IN RE:
HB4436 by Cyrier (Relating to the operation of aircraft in or on protected freshwater areas.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to specify that a person may operate an aircraft in or on a protected freshwater area, but requires that a person doing so make a reasonable attempt to avoid harming or disturbing vegetation, wildlife, or wildlife habitat within the protected freshwater area. The bill would take effect September 1, 2021, or immediately if it received a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Based on information provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
