IN RE:
HB4447 by Oliverson (Relating to the procedure for approval of certain land development applications by a municipality or county.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to the procedure for approval of certain land development applications by a municipality or county.
Local Government Impact
According to Harris County, a one-time cost of $100,000 is anticipated to provide for the following: drafting regulation changes; legal reviews; conducting public outreach and required public hearings prior to enacting a regulation change; securing commissioners court approval of the regulatory changes; revisions to the relevant electronic systems; and training of staff and applicants on the new procedures. In addition, Harris County anticipates a cost of $400,000 to $500,000 annually for five FTEs due to an expected increase in applications as a result of the bill's provisions.
The fiscal implications of the bill to other units of local government cannot be determined at this time.
