No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to the procedure for approval of certain land development applications by a political subdivision. 

Local Government Impact

According to Hays County, an annual cost of $38,900 is anticipated for one FTE due to an expected increase in applications as a result of the bill's provisions. 

According to Harris County, a one-time cost of $100,000 is anticipated, to provide for: drafting regulation changes; legal reviews; conducting public outreach and required public hearings; securing commissioners court approval; revisions to the relevant electronic systems; and training of staff and applicants on the new procedures. In addition, Harris County anticipates a cost of $400,000 to $500,000 annually for five FTEs due to an expected increase in applications as a result of the bill's provisions. 

The fiscal implications of the bill to other units of local government cannot be determined at this time due to an absence of additional responses.
