No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to prohibit attorneys from using a firm name, trade name, letterhead, or other professional designation that is false, misleading, or deceptive. The bill would prohibit the supreme court from adopting a rule that conflicts with the provisions of the bill and would instruct the court to modify any current rules necessary to comply with the bill's provisions.

According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant impact to the state court system is anticipated.
