LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 17, 2021

TO:
Honorable Chris Paddie, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB10 by Bettencourt (Relating to certain requirements applicable to political subdivisions and other entities that engage in lobbying and to the applicability of lobbyist registration requirements to a person who provides legal services to a political subdivision.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to certain requirements applicable to political subdivisions and other entities that engage in lobbying and to the applicability of lobbyist registration requirements to a person who provides legal services to a political subdivision could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Loving County, Ward County and Tom Green County do not anticipate a significant fiscal impact, nor does the City of Houston.

Fannin County does anticipate a fiscal impact from the bill, but in an indeterminate amount.

The fiscal impact to other units of local government cannot be determined at this time.
