SB11 by Huffman (Relating to the composition of the court of appeals districts.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to change the composition of the court of appeals districts. The bill would remove Hunt County from the 5th Court of Appeals, Gregg and Rusk Counties from the 6th Court of Appeals, and Upshur and Wood Counties from the 12th Court of Appeals to eliminate overlaps with other appeals districts. The bill would allow cases to be transferred to other courts of appeals as necessary to carry out the purpose of the act and ensure the efficient administration of justice.

Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
