No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the procedures required before a law enforcement agency hires a peace officer could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Sheriff's Association of Texas, increases in the workload associated with the hiring of peace officers and would have a fiscal impact on counties, but in an amount that cannot be determined at this time.
According to El Paso County, no significant fiscal impact to the county is anticipated.
The Justices of the Peace and Constables Association reports no fiscal impact on Constable's Offices.
