No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Health and Safety Code to allow a private or independent institution of higher education or an affiliated research institute or center to use its federal indirect cost rate towards the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas matching requirements for grant awards. It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions could be absorbed using existing resources.
