LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 23, 2021

TO:
Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB160 by Perry (Relating to certain county road reports.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to repeal Section 251.018 requiring an annual road condition report made by a county to include the primary any cause of road, culvert, or bridge degradation. The bill would remove submission of the county road condition report as a requirement for a county applying for a Transportation Infrastructure Fund grant from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant operational or fiscal impact to the State.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
