Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB220 by Zaffirini (Relating to notice and reporting requirements for vendor rebates under a contract listed on a multiple award contract schedule.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would amend Chapter 2155 of the Government Code, regarding general rules and procedures for purchasing. The bill would require the Comptroller to notify a state agency purchasing a good or service through a contract listed on the multiple award contract schedule of the percentage used to calculate certain rebates received by the Comptroller from the contract vendor. The bill would remove requirements for the Comptroller to report to the purchasing agency the portion of the rebate amount that is attributable to purchases made with federal funds, and would require the purchasing agency to calculate that portion.
The Comptroller's office indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
