No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to entity names that might falsely imply governmental affiliation with a governmental unit.  The bill provides that in addition to granting injunctive relief, a court may award certain damages to the governmental unit in certain circumstances.

According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.

According to the Secretary of State, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
