LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2021

TO:
Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB411 by West (Relating to open meetings of the governing body of a charter holder and the governing body of an open-enrollment charter school.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to open meetings of the governing body of a charter holder and the governing body of an open-enrollment charter school could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

There may be a nominal impact to charter schools with multiple campuses in noncontiguous municipalities to ensure they have electronic platforms/accounts to provide for public access and participation in broadcasted meetings over the internet.
