LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2021

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB452 by West (Relating to prevention and early intervention programs and practices.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Family Code to include additional requirements for evidence-based prevention and early intervention programs and practices and for evaluations of these programs and practices.

Based on analysis of the Department of Family and Protective Services, it is assumed that the costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
