LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 27, 2021

TO:
Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB510 by Perry (Relating to the transfer of certain state property from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to Stephens County.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to transfer the real property interests of a certain tract of land to Stephens County. The bill would require the land to be used for a purpose that benefits the public; otherwise, it would automatically revert to the State of Texas.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
