Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB552 by Kolkhorst (Relating to an annual report regarding certain dog bites.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Healthy and Safety Code to require each animal control authority to submit to the Department of State Health Services an annual report regarding dog bites that occurred in the preceding year in the authority's jurisdiction and resulted in bodily injury, serious bodily injury, or death of a person.
This analysis assumes there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing provisions of the bill that could be absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
