March 17, 2021

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB672 by Buckingham (Relating to Medicaid coverage of certain collaborative care management services.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that Medicaid coverage for collaborative care management services will begin on September 1, 2022. It is assumed the cost of providing collaborative care management services will be mostly offset by decreased costs related to reduced hospitalizations and utilization of other services, as well as increased premium tax revenue.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
