The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to restrictions on the use and disclosure of certain genetic material and genetic information. The bill would also create a civil penalty and criminal offense relating to the disclosure of genetic material and genetic information.
According to the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of Court Administration, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
According to the Comptroller's Office, the fiscal impact of the bill cannot be estimated.
