IN RE:
SB1138 by Hughes (Relating to a study on streamlining public safety net programs to reduce costs and improve outcomes for recipients under the programs.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Legislative Budget Board, in coordination with the Health and Human Services Commission and other applicable agencies, to conduct a study of safety net programs available in the state of Texas and submit a report of its findings to the legislature not later than September 1, 2022. This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
