SB1155 by Nelson (Relating to the eligibility of certain events for funding under the Major Events Reimbursement Program.), As Engrossed

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time due to unavailability of data related to the proposed major event, including market area, venue size, and attendees.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 478, to add the Texas Grand Prix to the list of events eligible for funding under the Major Events Reimbursement Program. The bill would also amend language relating to the largest event held each year at a sports entertainment venue in this state with a permanent seating capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of at least 125,000 now be effective on September 1, 2021. The fiscal impact cannot be determined without an application that includes data on the affected market area, venue size, or attendee spending behavior.
