TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

IN RE:
SB1489 by Hall (Relating to the provision of information regarding COVID-19 prevention and treatment to individuals receiving a COVID-19 viral test.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to develop and post on its website a brochure containing information about preventative measures and treatments for COVID-19 and would require health care facilities that provide a COVID-19 viral test to provide a copy of the brochure and to convey the information in the brochure. DSHS, the Health and Human Services Commission, and the University of Texas System indicated that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.
