No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to develop and post on its website a brochure containing information about preventative measures and treatments for COVID-19 and would require health care providers that perform a COVID-19 viral test to provide a printed or electronic copy of the brochure to the individual receiving the test. DSHS, the Health and Human Services Commission, and the University of Texas System indicated that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.
