LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2021

TO:
Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1925 by Hughes (Relating to the publication of the record of voters who voted in an election.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Election Code to require the Secretary of State (SOS) to publish on the Internet certain voting history information related to certain elections.

According to the SOS, the bill would require the development and implementation of a new online display of voting history using the existing Texas Election Administration Management (TEAM) system.  The costs of these modifications could likely be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
