LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 29, 2021

TO:
Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB2011 by Menéndez (Relating to the criminal offense of interference with child custody and a peace officer's duties with respect to that offense; increasing a criminal penalty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the criminal offense of interference with child custody and a peace officer's duties with respect to that offense could be absorbed using existing resources and that implementing the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.

Local Government Impact

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time.
