No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $178,333.
The joint resolution proposes a constitutional amendment to Article I of the Texas Constitution that would establish the right for a resident of a nursing facility, assisted living facility, intermediate care facility for individuals with an intellectual disability, residence providing home and community-based services, or state supported living center, to designate at least one essential caregiver with whom the facility, residence, or center may not prohibit in-person visitation. The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $178,333 in fiscal year 2022.
The proposed amendment would be submitted to voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021.
