Pursuant to a notice posted on May 12, 2021, the House Committee on International Relations & Economic Development met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Button, at 12:53 p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Button; Morales, Christina; Bell, Cecil; Hunter; Larson; and Metcalf.
A quorum was present.
SB 678
The chair laid out SB 678 as pending business.
Representative Hunter moved that SB 678, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Button; Morales, Christina; Bell, Cecil; Hunter; Larson (5).
Nays: Representative Metcalf (1).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Beckley; Canales; Ordaz Perez (3).
The chair stated that, because SB 678 failed to receive the required unanimous vote of the members present and voting, the committee report will not recommend that the measure be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.
SB 1465
The chair laid out SB 1465, the companion to HB 4119.
Representative Morales, Christina moved that SB 1465, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Button; Morales, Christina; Bell, Cecil; Hunter; Larson; Metcalf (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Beckley; Canales; Ordaz Perez (3).
At 12:57 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
