Pursuant to a notice posted on May 5, 2021, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Neave, at 9:45 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Neave; Cook; Frank; Ramos; and Talarico.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 285

 

The chair laid out SB 285 by West, the companion to House Bill 2953 by Neave.

 

Representative Cook moved that SB 285, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Neave; Cook; Frank; Ramos; Talarico (5).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

SB 286

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Talarico moved that SB 286, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
