Pursuant to a notice posted on September 15, 2022, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Neave, at 10:07 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Neave; Cook; and Wu.

 

(Representatives Ramos and Vasut participating virtually, pursuant to Rule 4, Section 16A.)

 

A quorum was present for the sole purpose of taking testimony, pursuant to Rule 4, Section 16A.


 

The Committee heard testimony on Interim Charge 3:

Examine obstacles to the reporting of domestic violence and how these obstacles contribute to the difficulty in obtaining and enforcing a protective order. Examine new technologies that could facilitate domestic violence reporting without putting victims at risk of further violence and harm.
