Pursuant to a notice posted on March 12, 2021, and a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on March 15, 2021, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Paddie, at 8:05 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Paddie; Deshotel; Harless; Howard; Hunter; King, Phil; Metcalf; Raymond; Slawson; and Smithee.
A quorum was present.

The Committee heard invited testimony only to discuss the most recent emergency message from the Governor.

At 9:57 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the committee will recess until the final adjournment or recess of the House today or during the period authorized for reading and referral of bills if permission is granted by the House.
The committee reconvened at 10:52 a.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Paddie.
