Pursuant to a notice posted on May 13, 2021, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Paddie, at 8:35 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Paddie; Hernandez; Deshotel; Harless; Howard; Hunter; King, Phil; Lucio III; Metcalf; Raymond; Shaheen; Slawson; and Smithee.

A quorum was present.

The chair directed that the May 6, 2021 minutes for the House Committee on State Affairs be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.
