Pursuant to a notice posted on July 6, 2022, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cortez, at 11:15 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cortez; Campos; Gates; Johnson, Jarvis; and Slaton.
A quorum was present.
The Chair made opening remarks.
The chair took testimony on charge #2- Evaluate the availability of workforce housing to support the dynamic economic growth of the state. Study the use of public-private partnerships and other tools to incentivize the development of housing that meets Texas’ expanding workforce demands. Develop and include measures to ensure accountability and transparency associated with these tools.
