Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Education was held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. A quorum not being present, the following business was transacted: The roll was called at 10:07 AM and a quorum was established. The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Schwertner.

 

The chair laid out SB 1083 and recognized the author, Senator Campbell, to explain the bill.
