Senator José Menéndez, the acting chair, called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM. A quorum not being present, the following business was transacted: The roll was called at 9:42 AM and a quorum was established. The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Lucio, Senator Hughes, Senator Schwertner.

Pursuant to a motion made by Senator Taylor to suspend Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18, Senator Taylor reconvened the Senate Committee on Education at 1:55 P.M. in the Senate Press Room, 2E.9.
