Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Local Government was held on Monday, March 8, 2021, in the Extension Auditorium.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:35 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair made opening remarks and introduced Committee staff.

The Chair recognized the members of the Committee for opening remarks and to introduce their staff representatives.

Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the committee rules. Senator Nichols seconded the motion.  There being no objection, the committee rules were adopted by unanimous consent.

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

Senator Angela Paxton at 1:48 PM.

There being no further business, at 1:54 PM Senator Nichols moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
