Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Nominations was held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. There not being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

Senator Angela Paxton

Senator Sarah Eckhardt

Senator Borris Miles

 

Senator Springer was recognized to offer comments of support for Robin Phillips, appointed to the Red River Compact Commission.

 

Senator Eckhardt was recognized to introduce Peter Lake, appointed to the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

 

Mr. Lake made an opening statement. Questions and comments were offered by the following members: Chair Buckingham, Vice-Chair Paxton, and Senator Springer.

 

Chair Buckingham announced that all appearing and non-appearing nominees, on the posted agenda, would be left pending before the committee.

 

There being no further business, at 9:32 a.m., Vice-Chair Paxton moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair; without objection, it was so ordered.
