The chair called the meeting to order at 8:06 AM. There being a quorum established at 8:38 AM, the following business was transacted:

The chair laid out HB 549 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Zaffirini, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Miles sent up a committee substitute.  The chair recognized Senator Zaffirini to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the house bill as engrossed. The Chair called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony on HB 549.(See attached witness list). Senator Kolkhorst moved that HB 549 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out HB 1434 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Zaffirini, to explain the bill.

 

The Chair called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony on HB 1434.(See attached witness list). Senator Kolkhorst moved that HB 1434 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Kolkhorst moved that HB 3961 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

As a matter of pending business, the Chair laid out the following bills, HB 4, HB 549, HB

1276, HB 1434, HB 2058, HB 1618, HB 2374, HB 3041, HB 18, HB 2658, SCR 31, HB 2093, HB 3961. Public testimony was heard.
