Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:06 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Committee heard invited and public testimony on the following interim charges:

Health Care Workforce: Study the impact of the global pandemic on the health care workforce in acute and long-term care. Identify health care staffing challenges and examine how staffing services and payment models changed the economics of the health care workforce. Identify and recommend ways to increase the health care workforce pipeline.

Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

At 12:59 PM Senator Perry assumed the chair.

At 1:07 PM Senator Kolkhorst resumed the chair.

At 3:15 PM Senator Perry assumed the chair.

At 3:24 PM Senator Kolkhorst resumed the chair.

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 6:10 PM Senator Blanco moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
