Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Redistricting, Special was held on Monday, January 25, 2021, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:04 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair made opening remarks and introduced committee staff. The Chair recognized other members to make opening statements and introduce their staff representatives.

 

Senator Hinojosa moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Dr. Lloyd Potter, Texas Demographer provided invited testimony.

 

At 11:15 AM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed.

 

At 11:30 AM Senator Huffman reconvened the meeting.

 

The following witnesses provided public testimony via videoconferencing (see attached witness list).

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 12:20 PM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
