Relating to the use by a county or municipality of public money for lobbying activities.

SB 334         Johnson                
Relating to disclosure under the public information law of certain records of an appraisal district.

SB 449         Hancock                
Relating to the authority of a property owner to bring suit to compel an appraisal district, chief appraiser, or appraisal review board to comply with a procedural requirement applicable to an ad valorem tax protest.

SB 1168        Campbell               
Relating to the authority of a municipality to impose a fine or fee in certain areas in the municipality's extraterritorial jurisdiction.

SB 1401        Springer               
Relating to quarantine leave for fire fighters, peace officers, and emergency medical technicians employed by, appointed by, or elected for a political subdivision.

SB 1413        Paxton                 
Relating to the electronic delivery of certain communications and payments required or permitted under the Property Tax Code; authorizing a fee.

SB 1437        Bettencourt            
Relating to the requirement that certain municipalities and counties conduct an efficiency audit before holding an election to approve the adoption of certain ad valorem tax rates.

SB 1679        Alvarado               
Relating to the creation of an urban land bank by certain municipalities.

SB 1764        Bettencourt            
Relating to the payment of delinquent ad valorem taxes on property subject to a tax sale.

SB 1879        Bettencourt | et al.
Relating to the authorization and reporting of expenditures for lobbying activities by certain political subdivisions and other public entities.

SB 2188        Seliger | et al.
Relating to the municipal or county regulation of residential detention facilities for immigrant or refugee children.

Public Testimony:

 

Oral testimony is limited to 3 minutes. If providing written testimony, bring 20 copies, with your name on each copy, to the Betty King Committee Room. All written testimony will be distributed to the Committee Members after the hearing. Those registering a position-only may do so at any Senate kiosk by the end of the hearing.

 

· Oral testimony: fill out a paper witness card in the Betty King Committee Room and submit to LGC staff.

 

· Oral and written testimony: fill out a paper witness card in the Betty King Committee Room and submit your witness card and written testimony to LGC staff.

 

· Position only: register using the Senate kiosk located in the extension hallways or by going to http://swrs on public-capitol. Kiosk registration will open at 9 a.m. the morning of the hearing.

 

· Written testimony only: register your position using the Senate kiosk and then bring 20 copies, with your name on each copy, to the Betty King Committee Room and submit to LGC staff.

 

For those unable to appear in person, comments may be provided directly to each Committee Member, whose contact information can be found at: www.senate.texas.gov

 

Note:
