SB 3           Hughes                 
Relating to civics training programs for certain public school social studies teachers and principals, parental access to certain learning management systems, and certain curriculum in public schools, including certain instructional requirements and prohibitions.

Public testimony on SB 3 will not begin until noon or later.

 

SB 5           Hughes | et al.         
Relating to complaint procedures and disclosure requirements for, and to the censorship of users' expressions by, social media platforms.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS FOR PUBLIC TESTIMONY:

 

The Committee will also hear public testimony on the following topic from Governor Abbott's Special Session Call

Legislation similar to House Bill 3979 concerning critical race theory as originally passed by the Texas Senate in the 87th Legislature, Regular Session.

 

 

 

Public testimony will be limited to 2 minutes.  If submitting written testimony, please provide 20 copies to the committee clerk with your name and bill number on each copy.

 

To protect the health and safety of the public, staff, and members, the Senate Committee on State Affairs will follow all Senate rules relating to the pandemic, including the requirement for a negative COVID-19 test to enter the hearing room.
