NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The committee will organize, adopt rules, and consider the following:

 

 

SB 25          Kolkhorst | et al.
Relating to the right of certain facility residents to designate an essential caregiver for in-person visitation.

SJR 19         Kolkhorst | et al.
Proposing a constitutional amendment establishing a right for residents of certain facilities to designate an essential caregiver for in-person visitation.

Individuals wishing to provide public testimony will be allowed to speak for 3 minutes total on the bills listed above. If submitting written testimony, please provide 20 copies to the committee.

 

The committee will also hear invited testimony on the current state of COVID-19 in Texas, the clinical response to Covid 19 and receive legislative updates from following state agencies/officials:

 

Health and Human Services Commission

Department of State Health Services

Department of Family Protective Services

Texas Army National Guard

Texas Medical Board

Texas Division of Emergency Management

 

 

To protect the health and safety of members, staff and the public, the Senate Health and Human Services Committee will strictly follow all Senate rules relating to the pandemic, including the requirement for a negative COVID-19 test to enter the hearing room.
