R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Karen Murphy Fouse of Fredericksburg passed away on
  June 8, 2023, at the age of 48, leaving behind a loving family and
  many dear friends to cherish her memory; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Houston on May 22, 1975, to William and
  Sherrie Murphy, the former Karen Murphy grew up with the
  companionship of two brothers, Joseph and Ryan; she graduated in
  1993 from St. Agnes Academy in Houston, where she was a key player
  on the school's tennis team that won a state championship; she
  continued her athletic career at Texas Lutheran College and went on
  to earn a degree in elementary education and art in 1997; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Fouse and her husband, Rusty Fouse, shared in
  the joy of raising a daughter, Madeleine, and the three were fond of
  taking family trips to Colorado; working as a kindergarten teacher
  at St. Mary's Catholic School in Fredericksburg allowed her to
  spend even more time with her daughter, and she also built a close
  rapport with her students, their families, and her fellow teachers;
  her friendly and outgoing nature made a positive impression on
  others, and she was also known for her adventurous spirit and her
  affinity for live music and sunshine; and
         WHEREAS, Karen Fouse led a rich and purposeful life, and her
  loss is keenly felt by all those who were privileged to share in her
  love and friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karen Murphy
  Fouse and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her husband, Rusty Fouse; to her daughter, Madeleine Fouse; to her
  brothers, Joseph Murphy and his wife, Jill, and Ryan Murphy and his
  wife, Courtney; to her uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews; to her
  godparents, Sherman and Carla LaBarba; and to her other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Karen Murphy Fouse.
