R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Alyson Evans Anderson of Austin on January 26, 2023, at |
|
the age of 78; and |
|
WHEREAS, Fondly known as "Bitsy" to loved ones, the former |
|
Alyson Evans was born in San Antonio on December 28, 1944, to Wilbur |
|
and Lillian Evans, and she grew up with the companionship of two |
|
siblings, Mary Beth and Terry; after graduating from Austin High |
|
School, she attended the University of Dallas Nursing School; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson became a nurse in the intensive care |
|
unit at Brackenridge Hospital, and her many contributions included |
|
caring for injured victims of the tower shooting at The University |
|
of Texas at Austin; she went on to work at Bailey Square Surgery |
|
Center before joining St. David's Day Surgery, where she was |
|
employed during the final years of her career; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed the love |
|
and support of her husband, Rodney, with whom she shared a rewarding |
|
marriage that spanned more than five decades; she took great pride |
|
in their children, Nicole and Brian, and over the years, she had the |
|
pleasure of seeing her cherished family grow to include two |
|
grandchildren, Michaela and Cash; and |
|
WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Mrs. Anderson was a longtime |
|
member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, where she taught |
|
Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes; she also volunteered |
|
at her children's schools, and she was a generous donor to an |
|
orphanage from a young age; in her leisure time, she enjoyed |
|
traveling with her family; and |
|
WHEREAS, A kind and caring woman, Alyson Anderson will be |
|
deeply missed, and those who held her dear will forever remember the |
|
warmth and joy she brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Alyson Evans Anderson and extend sincere condolences to the |
|
members of her family: to her husband, Rodney; to her children, |
|
Nicole Arenas and her husband, Laffit, and Brian Anderson; to her |
|
grandchildren, Michaela and Cash Arenas; to her brother, Terry |
|
Evans, and his wife, Donna; to her brother-in-law, Stephen |
|
Anderson, and his wife, Lisa; and to her other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alyson |
|
Evans Anderson. |
