SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
commemorates the life of Venita Lynn Dillingham Anderson, who |
|
died on April 18, 2023, at the age of 61; and |
|
WHEREAS, Venita Lynn Dillingham was born on November 27, |
|
1961, in Cincinnati; she graduated from Dunbar High School in |
|
1979 and went on to earn her bachelor of science degree from |
|
Illinois State University; after graduating from college, Venita |
|
moved to Bloomington, Illinois, and began her career with State |
|
Farm Insurance Company and her lifetime of service in Christian |
|
ministry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Venita joined Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in |
|
Bloomington, where she faithfully served for 22 years in various |
|
ministries, including in the church's prison ministry; in 2013, |
|
she began serving Center for Hope Ministries as an administrator |
|
and mentor under the guidance of her church leaders; and |
|
WHEREAS, A woman of spiritual depth and devotion, Venita |
|
became an ordained minister in August of 2021; throughout her |
|
ministry, Venita dedicated her time and energy to prayer and to |
|
the teaching of the scriptures; a published poet, Venita's words |
|
of inspiration comforted many; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her spiritual responsibilities, |
|
Venita held various management roles at State Farm Insurance |
|
Company, where she worked for 34 years until her retirement in |
|
2018; a hardworking employee, Venita was respected and beloved by |
|
her colleagues; and |
|
WHEREAS, Venita was a devoted wife to her husband, Eric |
|
Neil Anderson, whom she met in 2017 and married on November 24, |
|
2018, just three days before her 57th birthday; their children |
|
and grandchildren enriched her life immeasurably; Venita gave |
|
unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and enjoyment of |
|
life will not be forgotten by all who were privileged to know her; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Venita Lynn Dillingham |
|
Anderson; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from |
|
the Texas Senate and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Venita Lynn Dillingham Anderson. |
