Amend SB 1 (senate committee report) in SECTION 2 of the bill, in added Section 29.361, Education Code (page 6, between lines 24 and 25), by inserting the following appropriately lettered subsection and relettering subsequent subsections and cross-references to those subsections accordingly:
(__) This subsection does not apply to an open-enrollment charter school and applies only to a school district with a student enrollment of 5,000 or less that experiences a decline in student enrollment from the previous school year that is attributable to students participating in the program who would otherwise enroll in the district. For the first three school years during which a child residing in the district participates in the program, a school district to which this subsection applies is entitled to receive $10,000 per child from money appropriated for purposes of this subchapter.
