R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Joel Mungia of Robstown, who passed away on June 29,
  2023, at the age of 57; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Robstown, Joel Mungia was
  born in Corpus Christi on September 11, 1965, to Jose Mungia and
  Julia Escobedo Mungia; he grew up with the companionship of three
  brothers, Joe, Steve, and Bobby; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Mungia distinguished himself over the course of
  his 30-year career as a senior pipe designer at Onyx Engineering; in
  all his endeavors, he drew strength from his Catholic faith; and
         WHEREAS, A caring husband and father, Mr. Mungia enjoyed the
  love and support of his wife, Melissa; he took great pride in his
  seven children, Roger, Joe, Briana, Mireah, Megan, Miranda, and
  Joel, and he experienced the joy of welcoming 10 grandchildren into
  his cherished family; and
         WHEREAS, While the death of Joel Mungia brings great sadness
  to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy of love that
  will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Joel Mungia and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Melissa Morales Mungia; to his children, Roger
  Salinas and his wife, Ashley, Joe Angel Mungia and his wife, Kassie,
  Briana Salinas and her husband, Adrian, Mireah Mungia and her
  husband, Jacob Garcia, Megan Trevino and her husband, Erik Diaz,
  Miranda Trevino and her husband, Rodney Vaiz, and Joel Mungia Jr.;
  to his mother, Julia Escobedo Mungia; to his brothers, Joe Mungia
  and his wife, Terry, Steve Mungia and his wife, Elisa, and Bobby
  Mungia and his wife, Tammy; to his grandchildren; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joel
  Mungia.
