H.R. No. 36
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Marvin Joe Angle, an esteemed attorney and a valued
  member of the Jacksonville community, passed away on August 20,
  2023, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Marvin and Pauline Angle, Joe Angle was
  born in Marshall on September 1, 1945, and he grew up with the
  companionship of three siblings, Delphine, John, and Donnie; after
  graduating from Nacogdoches High School in 1963, he received a
  bachelor's degree in history from Stephen F. Austin State
  University and a master's degree in history from The University of
  Texas at Austin; he went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a staff
  sergeant for four years before attending Baylor Law School, where
  he earned his juris doctor degree in 1976; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Angle began his legal career at the Norman Law
  Firm, and he eventually became a partner; over the years, he
  developed a successful transactional law practice, and he
  specialized in the fields of real estate, probate, and estate
  planning law; he also served as Jacksonville's city attorney,
  gaining the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his
  professionalism and integrity; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Angle held leadership
  positions in numerous organizations, including the Jacksonville
  Rotary Club, the Jacksonville Public Library board, the Cherokee
  County Bar Association, the Jacksonville High School Band Boosters,
  the Jacksonville United Fund, Nan Travis Memorial Hospital, and the
  Cherokee County Republican Party; he was also a scoutmaster for
  local Scouts BSA troops; a man of deep faith, he served as an elder
  at Tyler Orthodox Presbyterian Church as well as at several other
  churches over the years; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Angle enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife, Judy, with whom he shared a rewarding marriage
  that spanned five and a half decades; he took great pride in their
  children, John and Mary; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Angle lived a life that was rich in personal and
  professional achievements, and he will forever be a source of
  inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Marvin Joe Angle and extend sincere condolences to his loved
  ones; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe Angle.
