R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Carl Dethloff is retiring as superintendent of
  the San Angelo Independent School District in December 2023,
  drawing a close an exemplary career in public education that has
  spanned nearly three and a half decades; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Dethloff first took the helm of San Angelo ISD
  on July 1, 2015, after serving as the assistant superintendent of
  human resources and professional development for six years, and
  over the course of his tenure, he has worked tirelessly to provide
  valuable educational opportunities to area students; under his able
  leadership, the district has significantly expanded its dual credit
  and career and technical education program offerings; and
         WHEREAS, Before coming to San Angelo ISD, Dr. Dethloff served
  as the principal of three schools in College Station; long active in
  his professional community, he has given generously of his time and
  talents to numerous committees and organizations, including the
  Texas Association of School Administrators leadership development
  committee, the TASA Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership
  Network, the Texas School Alliance, and the Texas Public
  Accountability Consortium; he holds both a bachelor's and a
  master's degree from Austin College as well as a doctoral degree
  from Texas A&M University; and
         WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Dr. Dethloff will take on
  a new role as the deputy executive director of the nonprofit
  education organization the Equity Center; in all his endeavors, he
  enjoys the love and support of his wife, Judy, and he takes great
  pride in their two daughters, Abbey and Caroline; and
         WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence, Carl Dethloff has helped foster a
  supportive and challenging educational environment for countless
  young Texans, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many
  contributions as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Carl
  Dethloff on his retirement as superintendent of the San Angelo
  Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Dethloff as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
