R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The United States is the leader of the free world;
  and
         WHEREAS, The United States has been the beacon of light and
  hope when an international crisis occurs; and
         WHEREAS, The United States has the moral imperative to show
  compassion by providing humanitarian assistance to innocent lives
  who have been affected by conflicts that are beyond their control;
  and
         WHEREAS, The conflict in the Middle East has resulted in a
  crisis that requires humanitarian assistance; and
         WHEREAS, The State of Texas values protecting human lives;
  and
         WHEREAS, The State of Texas mourns all the lives that have
  been lost; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby respectfully urge the
  Congress of the United States to provide immediate humanitarian
  assistance to those affected by the conflict in the Middle East;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the House forward official
  copies of this resolution to the President of the United States, to
  the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
  Representatives of the United States Congress, and to all the
  members of the Texas delegation to congress with the request that
  this resolution be entered in the Congressional Record as a
  memorial to the Congress of the United States of America.
