R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Mont Belvieu is hosting the grand |
|
|
opening of its new city hall and fire station on November 14, 2023; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The new facilities will serve to anchor what the |
|
|
city has envisioned as a livable, mixed-use downtown area and to |
|
|
replace the old municipal complex, which was built in 1991; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu broke ground on the city hall on |
|
|
March 18, 2021; encompassing nearly 31,000 square feet, the |
|
|
building will house a majority of the city's departments, allowing |
|
|
for more efficient interdepartmental collaboration and improved |
|
|
customer service for residents; the structure includes multiple |
|
|
conference rooms and additional space for future growth; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Located across the street from the new city hall, |
|
|
Mont Belvieu Fire Station 1 will enable the city's volunteer |
|
|
firefighters and full-time paramedics to better serve the community |
|
|
and achieve faster response times; the station has such amenities |
|
|
as a public lobby with a treatment room for walk-in patients, |
|
|
training and fitness rooms, dormitories, and decontamination |
|
|
facilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu's impressive new city hall and fire |
|
|
station are sure to be a significant resource to the community for |
|
|
years to come, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the |
|
|
vision, leadership, and hard work of those who helped bring this |
|
|
project to fruition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the grand |
|
|
opening of the new city hall and fire station in Mont Belvieu and |
|
|
commend all those who have contributed to this endeavor for their |
|
|
efforts; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the City of Mont Belvieu as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
